TGIT

Thank God It's Thursday! One more day til the weekend! Our Saturday services start here at the church this Saturday so we're so excited about all the festivities. It should be a great weekend. We won't know how to act on Sunday though :) This week has been great although busy. We better get use to it though because next week kicks off cheerleading for Aiva. She then starts Art which she's so excited about. This fall is gong to be a little crazy but we'll manage. We have been keeping up with cooking at home in the crock pot so that's been going well. Nate had things all ready by the time I got home last night. Love him! As soon as I walked in I got a chance to visit with the girls and then we dug in to dinner. That's something I can get used to. He does have an ulterior motive though. He's been working at his grandpa's lake for the past several months and between him and a few other guys they're really whipping it into shape. I'm so proud that he is doing something that he really enjoys! He tries to get over there for an hour or two while Ana is in school and then goes over after I get home. For now it works and he enjoys it so I keep my mouth closed although I miss him being home. The weather will turn soon and before we know it we'll be getting cabin fever.

We've been working on the girls birthdays and we have things narrowed down :) We're going to Chuck E Cheese for Ana's birthday and then on Saturday after Aiva's cheerleading, we're heading to Cocoa Key Water park for the day of fun and then we're spending the night and playing again the next day at the water park. This little excursion is for both kids and costs a pretty penny but they will have fun and so will we. The girls are so excited and are counting down the days til their birthday! I still have a few more things to get Ana but otherwise I'm good to go...looking forward to a little break!

MPM

So I totally missed all of last week so you'll have to forgive me as I gradually catch up. I had a wedding at the church last week that I had to tend to so my world was a little crazy. For this the menu looks a little something like this:

Monday - Chicken & Noodles
Tuesday - Hot Dogs & Fries (We have a huge pack in the fridge that I need to get rid of :) )
Wednesday - Beef Broccoli
Thursday - Grilled Cheese
Friday - Pizza Night
Saturday - Game Day :)
Sunday - Subs

Stay tuned for some pretty funny quotes from the kids. There's been so many that I've been trying to store them in my brain. I'm afraid it can't hold much more so I've got to get them down!

Routine

Tomorrow is the day that things change...for all of us! Aiva starts back to school and then Ana is right behind her in September. I've got to be on top of lunches, baths, homework, and keeping up with the house and bedtimes. not sure if I'm ready but here we go! Monday I'm going to start my Menu Plan Mondays again because I have to have some sort of plan for how we're going to do dinners. If I don't do this we'll be ending up at Pizza Hut or McDonald's A LOT! So get ready world, here we go again. I'm going to be best friends with my crock pot for the next several months. If you know of any easy recipes, I'm all ears.

As far as lunches, I've decided that I'm going to baggie all of the snacks and veggies way ahead of time so all I have to do the night before is pull a bag from the pile and toss in the lunch bag. I think I can make up some sandwiches a couple days before so I should be prepared that way. The trick is staying on top of it.

For baths, I've decided that bath night will be Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday and maybe Saturday - depending on what we do.

Aiva decided that she wants to do homework as soon as she gets home so she can go out to play while I'm getting dinner going. Nate will have to help with that one but we'll see how long this one lasts. After being at school all day it's going to be hard for her to dive right into homework. We'll have to see how it goes for a few days.

The last thing that I really want to keep up with is blogging. There have been so many things that have slipped by that I've either called my mom or wrote in the baby book that I haven't blogged about. I need to start doing this more often even if it's just a paragraph. The newest funniest thing that Aiva said was last week when she was in an art class. I asked who she sat by and she said, "She had red dot on her face...what are those called? That's right, fren-calls!" My mom calls her frencalls now and she hates it but it's a reminder for how innocent and funny she is. Love that girl :) So here's to a new "year". Very excited for what's to come so I better tighten my boot straps because it's gonna be a wild ride!

Monday - Cheesy Chicken
Tuesday - Meatloaf
Wednesday - Spaghetti
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Pizza
Saturday - Roast
Sunday - Valentines Dinner :)

For the past two weeks now I've been doing all of our dinners in the crockpot. I'm totally convinced that this is the way to go. It has been amazing how much time it has saved me getting ready for dinner. Plus we get to eat all this good food for dinner that I never in a million years would have fixed two weeks in a row. I do everything in the crockpot but the veggies and I usually throw in a piece of Great Harvest bread. This week I'll post the 12 recipes that I'm going to use twice this month for a total of 24 dinners. So far it's saved me a ton of money and a ton of time. Cheers!
