Friday

Yesterday was a busy day but all in all it was great! I've been dreading it all week so to actually get it over with is somewhat amazing. I had to work like a mad woman to get my work done at the church before heading to the dentist. At 12:30 I met my mom and she drove me over to the dentists only to find out that he wanted me to go to an endodontist. I was totally hoping that my dentist could do it because everywhere else that I called was way to expensive to have the root canal done. My dentist gave me a couple names and told me which one of the three was less expensive so as soon as I got in the car I called them up to see if they could take me. There was no way that I was getting out of work to just find out that the procedure couldn't be done. They told me to come on over and that they would fit me in their schedule. I was a little apprehensive at first but after praying I felt a sense of peace in knowing that God was in control and that I was going to be fine. They called me in and got started. After an xray and an explanation of what they were going to do it was 2:30. When I walked out it was 4:07. When the doctor numbed me up, he did an amazing job. I've never had the numbness secluded to just the area that the doctor worked on. My tongue, lips and the rest of my teeth were fine. After all the shoving and tugging I thought for sure I would have all this pain but after I walked out I called Nate and told him that surprisingly I felt fine. I didn't even feel like I had any work done. Since it was too late to head back to work, we decided to head to the Lennox since we were seeing a movie there later. We went to Johnny Rockets first and then headed to some other stores. Mom even bought me some Bath and Body Works lotion...thanks Ma! The movie started at 7:30 and it was great. We went to see Like Dandelion Dust, Karen Kingsbury book turned into movie, and I was more than pleased. I cried all the way through but it was a good cry...only a girl can say that! Guys just wouldn't understand that concept. I tried to explain it to Nate and he looked at me like I was crazy! If you can, go see it. It's great! Afterwards we went for "dessert" which turned out to be Tortilla soup from Max & Erma and then headed home to hubby. The girls were in bed, had pajamas on and the house was clean. He was a real trooper! Thanks Nate for my night out!

Girls

This weekend we had a girls weekend since Nate was out of "town' fishing. We had a great time and really didn't do much but we were together and laughed a whole lot. Friday we went to CiCi's and had pizza and played games. Both girls got CiCi balloons and then left them both go outside in honor of Sam Bish. They thought that Sam would like the balloons since he liked CiCi's. Ana also got her brand new big girl car seat which she was ecstatic about. That's all she talked about and she kept thanking Nate and I. Too cute! That night they got to watch a movie on my laptop in their room. They thought it was almost like being in a movie theater so they thought that was too cool. I got a chance to stay up to watch movies which I rarely get to do on my own...especially girly movies! I got the Last Song and Backup Plan. They were both great and I watched Backup Plan the next night since I liked it so much. Very cute movie! Saturday I did some running around and both girls were great and were great helpers. After our errands, we went over to my parents house and hung out the rest of the day. we sat out on the porch, played on the wing set and to top it off the got to spend quite a few hours in the hot tub. it was Ana's first time in the tub since she's super sensitive to hot water. She finally braved the water and had a great time. We had lunch out on the porch and then daddy came for a few hours and had dinner and watched a movie with us at my parents. At about 8PM, we all left and Nate went to spend the night at his uncles because he had to wake up early in the morning to finish up the tournament. We actually met him at the end of his uncles driveway for some kisses. The girls thought that mom and dad kissing was so gross. Made me giggle on the inside. I'm sure I felt the same about my parents but it was just so funny to hear them talk about how they are never going to do that. The next day they continued to have plenty of kissing questions. Too bad I had to handle them on my own! Sunday was a day to relax. I knew that the week would be busy so I just wanted to take it easy. we took long naps and then just kind of laid around. Nate was gone until late so I let them have the remote to watch their shows. We watched plenty of iCarly and Big Time Rush...their new show. It was a very relaxing day and couldn't have been better :) I love my girls!

Movies

Yesterday was awesome! Nate and I had a movie filled Saturday which we only get to do two times a year. This was an extension to our birthdays so we had to live it up! We both love movies so we did three yesterday. It was hard trying to make a decision but we narrowed it down to the three and I think we made a good decision. Here's what we saw:

We started at 4ish and the last movie ended around 2AM. I don't really have a favorite out of what we saw. They were all equally good in their own right! Avatar was a bit long for me and I had to get a second wind but it was definitely worth seeing! After we left the movies, we hit McDonald's for an extra early breakfast and then we thought we might was well stay up for the Federer/Murray tennis match. We didn't last long but I kept waking up to check the score. I was so bumbed when Murray lost but didn't lose any more sleep over it. I really want Andy Roddick to be in the finals but we were once again not surprise when he lost in the quarterfinals. So, with what's left of our Sunday, we're going to go for Nate's birthday (again) dinner at Red Lobster, pick up the girls, hang out with them maybe at Polaris, head home for dinner, and then for me, catch the second part of Jane Austin's "Emma" on PBS! Gotta love a Masterpiece Classic!

Faith

Nate and I just got down watching Julie & Julia and it made me start thinking a little...maybe a little too much. Faith is something that I've been struggling with recently. It's been difficult for me to turn things over and to have faith that God will catch me if I fall. Do you ever feel like this?
It's almost how I feel sometimes when my faith is wavering. When I try to take matters into my own hands and not have faith that God will work things out. It seems that Aiva has always had one medical problem or another. We've had a rough couple of years but we've always made it through and kept faith. For the past few days I've been so in awe of how Bob DeVoe, the President of Lifeline, is handling the situation with what's happening in Haiti and knowing his wife is there and he is here. Every time I hear him, he is extremely calm and is confident that God is in control and that it will all work out. Why do we waiver...why do we second guess? When God has proven himself over and over again why do we doubt? Satan knows just where to get us. He's sly and brings us to our knees...but it's when we're on our knees that we start to turn to God and we ask for help to trust that God will work in our lives. Has Satan hit you to where you're on your knees and you need to turn to God? I know I am...it's been a rough week and I've tried to go it alone his week. Forgive me God and help me to trust that you know better than I. Help me to fully rely on you to get me through each day. Thank you for loving me and for never leaving my side even though sometimes I stray! Thank you El Roi for being The God who opens our eyes!

IKEA

I just sent Nate away to visit IKEA for the first time. It was so hard for me to not go along with him! I was supposed to go tomorrow but I'm feeling a little under the weather and didn't want to chance not being able to go so Nate got the privilege of going down south by himself. I actually just picked up the phone to call and then hung up the phone, knowing that the best thing to do would be to let him go on his own. How can you not love IKEA? The sights, smells and just the feelings. For me, it's like the movie "You've got Mail". It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling that you just can't explain. When you turn the corner to get to the store, it's almost like I hear "AAAHHHHH" like angels! I know you might think I'm a little off my rocker and I must admit, I do sound like it. I've just gone all these years by ordering things out of the catalogue and then all the sudden, they build one in Ohio. Who would have ever thought? West Chester of all places too! Who has ever heard of West Chester? Anyway, I gave Nate my list and told him to grab some of their yummy cinnamon rolls before he goes out the door for breakfast tomorrow. There's nothing like IKEA cinnamon rolls! OK, time to stop before I attempt calling Nate again to come back! I'll have to let you know how he does and see if he gets the "AAAHHHH" feeling too! It's probably going to be more like "What was I thinking?".
