This evening I'm thankful that Aiva is scheduled to get her tonsils out. Even though I'm not excited for her or what we're about to go thru, I'm happy and thankful that she doesn't have to go thru having to go to doctor's and be on meds all the time once we have this done. She has literally been on meds ever since she was three so it's been a long 4 years. If it's not breathing treatments it's steroids, and if it's not steroids it's been medicine for strep. Hopefully it will all finally come to a close! This is something that I've wanted to have happen for a long time and I just have to get over the fact that she's going to be hurting for awhile but it's all going to be worth it. I'll keep you posted next week as to the details and what we're doing to prepare her but she's scheduled for Friday. I'm hoping she'll be OK for Easter! Keep us in your prayers!

Word-filled Wednesday & Thankful Thursday
I'm combining both of these posts since they both deal with the same thing. Hope that's cool with you :) Yesterday I spent the day racking my brain for how I was feeling inside. There was a verse out there but I just couldn't put my finger on it. All day I kept searching my heart and it just wasn't coming to me. I looked up something and it took me to a quote by someone, not sure who, but it goes like this:"The soul is nourished by ritual and celebration."
That's exactly what I was feeling but I couldn't find a verse in the Bible that used those particular words. Today as I was having some quiet time I finally found the verse I was looking for! Funny thing is that it's so common that I'm surprised it didn't come to me sooner! Does Psalms 23 sound familiar? Hello! So...the verse I'm using for Word-filled Wednesday is easy...
"He restores my soul"
That's it! This week my soul has been restored. I've had some good quiet time. I've gotten to clean up and re-decorate the house. I've gotten to hang out with some friends and have seen several movies. My soul is very full...I do...I feel restored! It's amazing what a few days and some peace and quiet will do to a person!
Which leads me to Thankful Thursday ;) I'm so thankful that I've had this week to get my "stuff" together. I feel so much more rejuvenated and like I have more of a spring to my step. I know it takes a lot out of Nate to take the girls out of town so kudos goes to my wonderful husband. It's been a rough week in Nashville because they've had some pretty crappy weather. Can't wait for them to get back into town and see what I've done to the house. Thank you honey for letting me have this time. It will help carry me to Montana!

Thankful Thursday
Today on Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for my DAD! Today is his birthday and although I wish I was able to spend more time with him today, it was good to see him and have some lunch with him. We're going on a date tomorrow and I'm so excited! My dad is my hero...I look up to him and am very proud of him. He has taught me so much about life, love and what's right. There are so many great memories I have with my dad. Some of my favorite are:#1 - When my mom and dad dropped me off to college at KCC, my dad wrote me a beautiful letter about life and love. He talked about me being successful, watching out for myself, knowing that even though I may feel alone that God is always with me. The letter spoke about how my parents are so proud of me and love me so very much. It talked about their hopes and dreams for my life. I still have this letter and treasure it dearly.
#2 - The day I got married, when my dad walked me down the aisle, I was terrified. Before going into the church I was fine. When the doors opened and I saw all the people looking at me, I felt like I wanted to faint. I remember leaning on my dad for support and he supported me as I walked thru the beautiful church to my prince :) Before he gave me over to Nate he looked in my eyes and kissed my cheek.
#3 - Thru our whole ordeal in Montana I had thought repeatedly, "Dad would know what to do...". The moment I heard my dad's voice on the other end of the phone after we had been rescued, I knew everything was going to be OK. When Nate and I got off the airplane when we got back from our honeymoon my dad was waiting for me. My heart felt full when I saw him! I'll never forget that day!

#4 - Thru our "interruption" a few years ago after we returned from Nashville, my dad was extremely supportive. He never once said "I told you so". He welcomed us home, provided food, shelter and love and gave us a hand up. It was one of the lowest points in my life and I couldn't have done it had my dad not have been so encouraging and loving.
So today, I'm thankful for my daddy! Without him I wouldn't be the women that I am today. I hope I've made him proud!

Thankful Thursday

Today for Thankful Thursday I am thankful for the quiet of the office today. Usually there's a lot of hustle and bustle in the office but not today. I LOVE it! I've been able to get caught up on a lot of things that have been "hanging" and I've been able to listen to my tunes and just enjoy the quietness of the day. Believe me, this NEVER happens...unless it's summer. So for today, I'm going to soak this up and enjoy it! That's what I'm thankful for today...how about you?

Thankful Thursdays
Today for Thankful Thursday, I'm thankful for the remote desktop connection on my computer. I know that sounds hookey but it's true. Today, Nate was sick and so I was stuck with Ana. At first I was a bit frustrated because I hate to miss work but then I turned my frown upside down and started to figure out what I was going to do. I took Ana to work to grab some work, headed home and jumped on my computer (RDC) and started working. Without it, I would be stuck and have to take a vacation day. Thanks to Mark Stier and the RDC for letting me be able to work and stay home with my daughter! Got to get back to her :) That's what I'm thankful for today!Thursday, February 24, 2011
Thankful Thursdays
My intent was to start out my first Thankful Thursday with some one I'm thankful for. Last night I knew it was going to take a turn into some thing that I'm thankful for. Today I'm so thankful for our trusty Buick Regal. Our CRV has been in and out of the shop and the Buick is always there for us. We just got back our Honda the day before yesterday and we were so excited to have her back! Nate got in it to go to the store last night and she wouldn't start. I was so upset. We (us and the insurance company) just spent all this money and it STILL doesn't work! I am so thankful that we have another car to fall back on! Most people don't have this luxury. Even though she's a little rough looking good ole' Betty keeps us going. That's if for Thankful Thursday! Make it a great one!
